SOTEAG

SOTEAG carries out environmental monitoring around Sullom Voe’s oil terminal and port.

Since the 1970s SOTEAG has managed a comprehensive scientific environmental monitoring programme to examine the health of Shetland’s marine and coastal habitats. Regular data is collected from SOTEAG’s monitoring committee which provides early warning of environmental change.

SOTEAG aims to share its knowledge and experience through its engagement programme. SOTEAG has a range of activities suitable for nursery groups and Primary schools. These activities are FREE and can be sent to schools using a ‘loan box’ system. These boxes provide teachers with an array of coastal/ marine themed activities that focus on seabirds and the rocky shore. All activities come with the equipment needed and full detailed instructions.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me for further information. I look forward to hearing from you.
